Everything you need to know before booking with Pet Passenger.
Yes. Pet Passenger holds full public liability insurance and specialist animal-in-transit insurance. All our vehicles and drivers are fully insured for the transportation of animals, giving you added peace of mind while your pet is in our care.
We transport dogs of all breeds and sizes, from small toy breeds to large and giant breeds. Every dog travels in an appropriately sized, secure crate to ensure a safe, comfortable journey. We have experience transporting dogs with a wide range of personalities, ages, and needs, and we tailor our approach to suit each individual dog. If you have a particularly large, unusual, or special-needs breed, please let us know when booking so we can make any necessary arrangements to ensure they're as comfortable as possible. Your dog's safety, comfort, and wellbeing are our priority from pickup to drop-off.
We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance to secure your preferred spot. If you know about an upcoming appointment—such as a vet visit, grooming session, daycare, or boarding—we encourage you to book as early as possible, especially during busy periods. For regular appointments, such as weekly vet visits, recurring grooming trips, or daycare, we're happy to arrange a standing schedule for your convenience. We also occasionally have same-day availability, so if you need transport at short notice, give us a call and we'll do our very best to accommodate you whenever possible.
All our drivers are trained in calm, compassionate animal handling, and we have experience working with dogs of all temperaments, including those who feel anxious when travelling. We use individual travelling spaces, which many dogs find reassuring and help create a calm environment. For dogs with known travel anxiety, we recommend bringing a familiar blanket or favourite toy to help them feel more secure. If you're concerned, please let us know when booking so we can plan ahead and give your dog the extra care and attention they may need. Your dog's comfort, happiness, and wellbeing will always be our priority. We never rush an anxious dog and will take the time needed to help them settle, working at their own pace to make the experience as calm and positive as possible. We do not administer sedatives. If your vet has recommended sedation for travel, please let us know in advance so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
Our prices are based on the overall journey. We have a standard rate for local journeys, with a small additional charge for longer distances outside our standard service area. Simply let us know your pick-up and drop-off locations, and we’ll provide you with a personalised quote before confirming your booking.
